Barbara Hepworth Building
The new 5 storey Barbara Hepworth building will be the new home for the School of Art, Design and Architecture within the University of Huddersfield.
Named after the renowned West Yorkshire-born sculptor, the 7,500 sqm development is situated alongside the picturesque Huddersfield Narrow Canal and is designed to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’.
The building will include state-of-the-art construction studios, research space, fine art studios, lecture rooms, CAD computer laboratories and a library.
Brentwood were appointed as the M&E Sub-contractor to Morgan Sindall. Designed to BIM Level 2, the technical approach involves Breathing Buildings ventilation strategies, which aims to improve the air quality, thermal comfort and energy usage within the educational establishment.
