An 885 bed UNITE student accommodation scheme across a series of three to six storey blocks.
The architectural design is in keeping with the quadrangle enclosures of many of Oxford’s colleges. Cowley Barracks will provide residence for students at Oxford Brookes University with amenities and collaboration spaces included within the ‘village’.
Brentwood were appointed to complete the mechanical and electrical services design on behalf of RG Group and C&D Electrical. The design includes LED lighting throughout, electric panel heating within residences, PV panels and the use of CHP plant to provide 87% of the domestic water heating load of the development. The scheme is set to achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’.
