ARCO Distribution Centre
The new Arco Distribution Centre (NDC2) is a 20,439m2 storage warehouse and logistics facility adjacent to the existing Arco NDC1 building in Hull. The magnitude of this building enables the organisation to fulfil its business growth strategy by doubling its output.
The exterior façade has been designed with a mosaic of blue and grey cladding to compliment the aesthetics of the surrounding buildings.
Brentwood were appointed by ARCO to undertake the performance design of the NDC2 building relating to the building services engineering systems. Whilst the intention to replicate the NDC1 services systems design was maintained, the original NDC1 building is estimated to have been constructed in the 1990’s, with an extension of the property completed in 2000’s. Therefore, some of the systems design was amended or enhanced to ensure compliance with the current more stringent Part L requirements.
Radiant tube heaters have been incorporated into the design in an effort to significantly reduce the energy consumption and production of carbon.
