Central Disinfection UnitHull
Brentwood were appointed by Hull & East Yorkshire NHS Trust across a number of commissions in relation to several projects within the Central Disinfection Unit (CDU).
The unit provides central disinfection and sterilisation services across Hull and East Yorkshire for the Trust, and is pivotal to their operational success.
Projects appointments included:
- Wholesale upgrade and replacement of the sterilisation equipment over several phases over several years.
- Improvements and upgrades to the power resiliency system.
- Installation of new sterilising equipment within the DaVinci unit.
Typically, the appointments are from inception and briefing stage right through to detailed design.
Working within a live hospital environment and maintaining live patient services offers numerous challenges.
By taking time to develop an understanding of the units operational needs, Brentwood were able to detail and programme the installations without any down time to the unit.
A number of complex existing services and systems including steam and medical gasses were carefully extended, amended and integrated with new systems and services.
Having developed a mutual understanding and fostered an excellent working relationship, Brentwood continue to work closely with Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, both within the CDU and on other sites throughout East Yorkshire.
